Add Some Shine to Your Lips and Lids

By GalTime Makeup Artist Andrea Ducharme

Labor Day has come and gone, and the carefree summer face is officially behind us. The good news is that all of those fabulous fall clothes look even better when paired with a polished makeup look. Last month I gave you the 3 must-have makeup items for Fall 2011. Now, here are some tips that will help you go from the office to a night on the town in no time:

  • Apply your favorite red lipstick, and simply add a bit of clear gloss to the center of your lips. Gucci paired this look with lots of mascara and it looks both sharp and feminine, not to mention the perfect partner for your go-to LBD (little black dress). My favorite will always be MAC Clear Lipglass ($14.50). It really lasts, and is as glossy as you can get!

  • Change the texture of your daytime eyeshadow by tapping a bit of a shimmery cream shadow to your eyelids. This will achieve that "almost wet" look that was splashed across the Fall runway, and takes just seconds to do.

  • This season's trendy matte eyeshadow is a great way to define the crease. A good balance is to pair it with a super glossy lip.

  • Go for a fun nail color! Nails played a huge part in the Fall 2011 shows, and are an inexpensive way to stay on trend. I will always be a classic red girl, but deep metallic shades are also fun to play with.

  1. Matte skin looks beautiful and fresh for evening wear. A good investment is a sheer pressed powder. Before you head out for the night, lightly apply all over your face with a small fluffy brush. MAC Blot Powder ($23) is a great choice. Another one I love is Estee Lauder After Hours Slim Compact ($28). It fits easily into those tiny evening bags and looks pretty, too!
