Age-Defying Celebs: Ellen Barkin

It's practically in celebs' contracts that their jobs may involve partying until dawn, roasting in St. Tropez, spending forever on planes, and losing weight for roles-only to rapidly gain some back when they're not working. (Notice how I didn't even touch on addiction, pregnancy, heartbreak, crackups, rehab, or any combination thereof.)

Doing this for several decades would leave most women looking like a hot mess, but a few manage to pull through scarily-and enviably-well-preserved. Here, the female stars who've gone through the Hollywood ringer but still look like they're fresh off the bus.

Ellen Barkin. God, where to I begin? Her glowing complexion (That can't just be luminizer), taut, toned body (What is that, Pilates?), and buttery blonde hair (does she sleep in VO5 Hot Oil?) lead me to believe that maybe women really do improve with age. Or maybe, I just better step it up.

Linda Evangelista. This woman is over 40, she's had a baby, and yet she doesn't look a day older than she did in George Michael's "Freedom '90" video. I have a feeling her feline bone structure and aqualine nose will see her through another 40.

Cindy Crawford. You may be thinking, "Duh, well of course she's aging well, you fool-she's a model." But consider this:

A) Not all models grow old gracefully
and
B) Cindy happily sacrificed a lot for her looks. "I'm not a party girl," she says on her Web site. "I wake up early." (Although we did spy a video clip of her at Pam Anderson's and Kid Rock's wedding, and have a feeling that wasn't an early night.)

Kylie Minogue. Pushing 40, teeny-tiny Kylie could break onto the scene today and look every ounce the pop star. And after all that she's been through (cancer and career ups and downs), that effervescent energy still bubbles up to the surface-plus, she always look perfectly glossed and glowing.

Sharon Stone. It's obvious Sharon isn't the type to go down without a fight, and she looks all the better for it, don't you think? She keeps her body in top form, is always working some sexy blonde crop, and represents the Dior Capture line (which she receives by the boatload). Plus, I have a suspicion her love life is pretty good, too. That never hurts.
