Barack Obama gets an upgrade from his "Urkel" jeans
You know how your dad embarrassed you terribly in fifth grade by telling bad jokes and asking your friends about the boy you had a crush on and--maybe the most egregious--walking around in a pair of nerdy, faded Lee jeans that he'd had since the 70s? Take comfort in the news that potential presidents are just as bad as your old man. Barack Obama was on the campaign trail in a new pair of jeans yesterday, apparently bought because "I got a hard time from all sorts of blogs who said I looked like Urkel." Read on to see the candidate's transformation.
The Cut didn't mind Obama in what they called his "mom jeans," but I'm happy to see him embracing his more dapper side (and even happier that someone on his campaign is reading fashion blogs!). Now the leather jacket is feeling a little New Jersey mall circa 1996 (believe me, I was there), but hey, we can only focus on one sartorial transformation at a time.
