The Best-Dressed Oscar Stars of All Time

Priya Rao

As we approach Hollywood's golden night on March 2, it's only natural to look back on Academy Awards of yore-the winners, the upsets, and, most importantly, the fashion. Who could forget Grace Kelly's enviable turn in a mint green Edith Head dress at the 1955 Oscars, when she won best actress for The Country Girl, or Elizabeth Taylor in a demure, pale yellow and floral Christian Dior gown at the 1961 Academy Awards? Certainly, these grand dames knew a thing or two about making an entrance. But their modern-day counterparts are equally exciting. America's sweetheart Julia Roberts wowed in vintage Valentino when she won best actress for Erin Brockovich, and more recently, Gwyneth Paltrow showed off her minimalist side with a white caped Tom Ford. Clearly, the most memorable best-dressed stars are those who make a statement on the red carpet. Click through the slide show for more of the all-time best Oscar looks.
