There's nothing like a new pair of boots to put a little spring in your step….or some fall flair in your outfit!

From country styles to rock n' roll to everything in between, PEOPLE StyleWatch Assistant Fashion Editor, Cassady Nordeen, shows GalTime which boots are made for walkin'!

Tough Boots: This is the edgy girl's boot, but it's not studded anymore - it's sleek, sexy, and chic! With details like zippers and buckles, or even a sharp stiletto heel, you can really take rockstar to a whole new level this season.

Western Boots: Western boots are all over the runway this season. The newest version is slightly updated. It might have a pointed toe or a higher heel, but it's still a cowboy boot! Look for fringe, embroidery, color, and Southwestern prints.

Oxblood: This deep, maroon-ish red is the "it" color this fall. If you're going to get a colored boot, why not try this shade on for size? It's actually surprisingly versatile, and the perfect way to add interest to an outfit without being too over the top.

MARC by Marc Jacobs Riding Boot, $550

Shearling-Lined Boots: These chic boots are sheer indulgence for your feet! Look for shearling in all silhouettes - booties and boots, wedges, flat heels, chunky heels, and even stilettos. In some cases, the boot might just have shearling trim at the top, but it usually folds over to reveal the cozy white inside. Some boots even have shearling patches on the outside.

Mixed-Material: Look for a streamlined, minimalist shape, that mixes materials, colors and textures, like neutral leather with colored suede, or exotic skin and leather. These boots are best in black, grey, and camel.

Tory Burch Jenna Riing Boot, $495

Menswear: The menswear influence travels to your toes this fall! These styles are inspired by brogues and oxfords, but they don't have to look mega-masculine! Some even have high heels. It's all in the details here, so think tassels, wingtips, and even monkstraps.

Which boots are right for you? Bring thick socks when going boot shopping, since you'll probably be wearing them with your boots during the winter. It could change the size you buy. Make sure to really walk around in them, too! If you're going to be wearing them for multiple seasons, make sure the pair you choose is both comfortable and versatile. It's not like a pair of pumps that you can throw in your bag - no one wants to be lugging around a pair of boots that are too uncomfortable to commute in! Overall, calf and knee high boots are more flattering for those with shorter legs, since they tend to streamline the silhouette. However, it's really best to try on multiple styles to find the perfect fit!
