As Kim Kardashian counts down to her wedding day on August 20, she's being a typically coy bride about her Vera Wang wedding gown. "I don't want to give too much away, but it'll be really elegant and pretty," Kardashian told Access Hollywood. "She's really, truly unique, and she's someone I trust," the future Mrs. Kris Humphries continued, "and someone I think can get my vision over across perfectly." And Kardashian is nothing if not a perfectionist. Last week, she took a red-eye from L.A. to New York City just to spend an hour on her final fitting at Wang's boutique-then she immediately flew back home.

For Ivanka Trump's custom-made gown in October 2009, Wang looked to Grace Kelly's wedding dress for inspiration-particularly the lace sleeves. "It's modest and tasteful," Wang told New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn about Princess Grace's dress, which was created by MGM costume designer Helen Rose. "[Ivanka] was actually very much about being covered, and I seized on the chance to do a dress that wasn't naked and very Hollywood." To complement the gown, Trump wore three pieces from her own jewelry collection: a $45,000 hair clip, a $90,000 art-deco bracelet, and $13,000 drop earrings.

For Chelsea Clinton's August 2010 wedding day, the bride had two Vera Wang dresses. The former first daughter walked down the aisle in a strapless ivory dress with a laser-cut organza ball-gown skirt that was finished with a silver embroidered waistband. Then, for the reception (which Wang, a longtime family friend, also attended), she changed into a Grecian-inspired tulle gown with a crisscross back and black grosgrain belt. The bridesmaids also wore Vera Wang-strapless lavender chiffon dresses with plum bows.

All brides worry about how prenuptial weight loss will affect the fit of a dress, but when it came to designing a wedding gown for singer Alicia Keys, Vera Wang had to factor in weight gain-the bride was six months pregnant when she married Swizz Beatz last summer. On the big day, Keys wore an ivory silk goddess gown-inspired by the Mediterranean setting in Corsica-with a jeweled headpiece and a Jacob & Co. necklace. The groom was no slouch himself: He wore a Tom Ford tuxedo with a white dinner jacket.

Will Khloé Kardashian's Vera Wang dress offer some clues as to what Kim might wear? Probably not. For Khloé's October 2009 wedding to Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom, she opted for a strapless gown with a wrapped bodice and a simple lavender sash. (It was based on one of Wang's strapless mermaid dresses from her fall 2009 collection.) But Kim's good friend and publicist Jonathan Cheban recently admitted that her dress will not be understated. "I think we're going for over-the-top," he said. "If they're going to film [the wedding], the world is going to want to see something really exciting."
