Bridesmaids' Tattoos: Should They Be Visible Or Not?

Forgive me for being obsessed with my best friend's wedding. I don't fantasize about my own wedding (nor does my mom, who got married in city hall wearing an orange pantsuit), but for some reason I'm infatuated with hers. Here is the latest topic I am hoping you'll weigh in on: The bride's sister has a very prominent arm tattoo, in honor of her friend who died.

Our b-maid dresses won't cover it, but the bride doesn't mind. Her mom, however, has been quite distraught, going so far as to suggest the sister order an extra dress and have a seamstress fashion it into a small taffeta coat! That didn't happen, but some people have suggested we could get the bride's makeup artist to airbrush-conceal the tat. If it were your wedding, would a bridesmaid's major tattoo bother you? What do you think we should do in this situation?
