Brow Lesson - Don't End Up With Jillian Michaels' "Angry Brows"

Watching The Biggest Loser is the equivalent to going through a tumultuous relationship. You laugh, you cry, you cry some more, eat a little ice cream, feel bad for eating a little ice cream, and then walk away feeling absolutely exhausted even though you did absolutely no physical activity. Last night's finale was no different. We were elated for the winner but also elated for ourselves for the sheer fact that the season was over and we could take some time away from the fierce fitness drill sergeant Jillian Michaels.

It's not that we have anything against Jillian Michaels-in fact sometimes we imagine her face on the treadmill when we need to squeeze out an extra five minutes. It's just that she's a little too intense for our liking in the brow area. Now, this may be on purpose to whip her team into shape, but her angry brows seem to have a mind of their own with one single goal - total gym domination through deadly stares.

This look may be necessary for Michaels, but if you don't want to make small children cry at the mall, it is not necessary for you. You can have beautifully sculpted and defined brows without looking angry. If you tweeze your eyebrows at home, follow these tips from brow expert, Christi Harris.

1. Determine where your brow should start. The space between your eyebrows should be equal to the width of your eye. The inner edge of the brow should start above the nostril. To find these points, hold an eyebrow pencil diagonally from the nostril and extend it to the end of your eye; that will show you where the brow should end.

2. Figure out where to shape the arch. Your brow shape should peak above the center of your iris. Hold the pencil diagonally so it makes a line from your nostril to the center of your eye. Then, using a slanted tweezers with a precise tip, pluck and shape your arch-but be extra careful not to overdo it!

3. Trim any hairs that fall below the shape the you created. But use an eyebrow scissor, not the pair from your kitchen.

These tips will help give you a natural-looking brow brow, so you can leave the angry staring to Michaels on the Biggest Loser Ranch. Got your own plucking prescription? Post your tips below!
