Celebrity Stylists Reveal Their Top 5 Fashion Trends

It may be cold outside, but let's dream of warmer weather... and the latest Spring collections! (They're so inspiring!). Here are five of our favorite trends that you will see in the coming months:
Peplum: The word peplum is not in everyone's fashion vocabulary, but it will be soon! Without being too wordy, peplum is simply an added flare or flounce at the waist, and can be found on jackets, shirts, skirts or dresses. We're not talking rows and rows of volume or tutu fullness here, we're just talking about a little extra fabric that makes a big, fashionable difference.
This trend has a very lady-like feel, and adds a little volume in just the right place. A peplum jacket paired with skinny jeans or pants is a look that will take you right through the summer.

Statement Sunglasses: If you are like us, you have a simple pair of chic sunglasses that you love to use over and over and over again. You know they look good, they're easy to wear, and they go with everything in your closet. This spring, you will find more styles that make a statement all on their own. There are so many great options that you might even find yourself building your outfit around your glasses!

Black and White: Another classic trend for 2012 is the striking combination of white and black. We love these two clean, classic colors together as much as we love them on their own. Their stark contrast is such a bold look, and it really pops just as a bright color would. You will be able to find this combination in shoes, jewelry, bags, and of course, clothing. Look for modern shapes with graphic prints to really give your look a unique twist.

Tangerine: We love an unexpected jolt of color, and are thrilled with all of the tangerine we saw on the Spring runways. Tangerine is so vibrant that it works just as well on a tee shirt for day as it does on a gown for night. We love pairing it with a skinny navy jean and a nautical striped tee for a chic daytime look, or a one-shoulder gown for a formal nighttime affair. Either way, this is THE color of the season...so don't shy away!

Crop Top: For some of us, the crop top is a tough fashion pill to swallow, but you will see it in all of your stores this summer. This year, designers chose to make their tops in flowy fabrics, and paired them with high-waisted skirts and trousers, so only a sliver of skin was showing. If baring your midriff is a no-go, there are other ways that you can rock the crop top trend. Over a dress or under a blazer is still a great way to get the cut and style, without having to show any extra skin. Realistically, this trend won't work for everyone, and it isn't work appropriate. But for those of you that want to take the plunge, you'll have plenty of options to take for a test drive.

2012 is going to be a fantastic year for fashion. You'll find lots of color, patterns and interesting fabrics and textures. Our best advice? Take a risk and try on trends that you wouldn't normally go for. That way, you're not missing out on anything . Giving fashion trends a try is half the battle, so take a friend that you trust along for the ride, and really experiment with some of the great options out there. We bet you'll be glad you did!
