Are Charm HATS the New Charm Bracelet?

by Brenna Egan

courtesy of Opening Ceremonycourtesy of Opening Ceremony I'm 100% in favor of a bedazzled hat for fall, especially this J. Crew topper, but I'm not sure if I can wrap my head around the new trend from one of my favorite Montreal-based designers, Arielle de Pinto. I've had a charm bracelet since I was sixteen, clasping on mini-symbols of memories with each milestone. However, I staunchly believe in shaking things up and ousting traditional notions of dressing as a mantra. So, when I caught this new cap on Opening Ceremony's Insta (they're available in stores now, online soon), I've been debating whether to whip out my plastic. First, there's the question of sight--can one actually see past the pretty rhinestones, or is it kind of dope to have crystal vision? The floor model seems to be interchangeable with your own baubles, but I'm not sure I crave the inevitable constant conversation that comes with flaunting those personal treasures front-and-center.

So, you tell me. Are you "Charmed, I'm sure!" or is it all in the wrist?
