Cheap Finds: Affordable Acne Fighters

Women's Wear Daily

reports that upscale beauty brands are booming. But you don't have to be flush with cash to have clear skin. Here, my favorite inexpensive acne-fighters:

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Cleanser. ($7.99) With zingy grapefruit extract, vitamin C, and a pretty pink color, this is just as tough as the original. If you have dry skin, skip this one: It?s strong.

Skin Effects Acne Spot Treatment. ($9.99) What do you do with a huge honking zit right now? Zap it with this light cream with benzoyl peroxide STAT.

Clean & Clear Advantage Blackhead Eraser Exfoliating Cleanser. ($19.99) This battery-operated, vibrating machine holds disposable pads packed with a blackhead-dissolving serum. Very cool.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Blotting Tissues. ($10) The first time I saw a friend bust these out mid-convo, I thought she was nuts. Then I tried them. The antiseptic tissues soak up oil, feel refreshing, and won't mess with your makeup.

Aveeno Active Naturals Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer.($16.99) If you have regular flare-ups, take no chances. Every day, wear this gentle, non-smelly moisturizer with salicylic acid, to scavenge the bad stuff out of your pores.

An alternative to regular acne treatments may soon become available. Read more about it.
