Christy Turlington's '90s Ad Returns, Reminds Us She Doesn't Age

If there was a worldwide competition for best throwback Thursday then Christy Turlington would take first prize, hands down. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Calvin Klein’s award-winning fragrance Eternity, the company plans to reissue a 1995 advertisement featuring the supermodel in magazines this May and June, according to Fashionista.

The ad, shot by photographer Peter Lindbergh, pictures Turlington (also known as Christy Turlington Burns), who started modeling for the brand in 1988, and the biggest male model of the 90's-era Mark Vanderloo. (Fun fact: the character Derek Zoolander in the movie “Zoolander” is rumored to be based on Vanderloo.) The only difference between the original 1995 version, when both the models were 26, and the 2014 one is the updated tagline: “Time can’t touch us. Celebrating 25 years.”

It’s pretty eerie how true that caption really is. Compare the now 45-year-old Turlington Calvin Klein Underwear campaign from last fall (pictured above, at right) with the black and white Eternity photo from 1995 (at left) — how is it possible that almost two decades have passed between them?!

While the founder of maternal health charity, Every Mother Counts, told Vogue that some of her secrets to anti-aging success are practicing yoga, taking vitamin supplements, doing juice cleanses, and getting seasonal facials, it's hard to believe that she doesn’t also have access to the fountain of youth.

But perhaps it’s just her incredibly healthy outlook on getting older that keeps the mother of two looking like a 20-something. “It’s been interesting to be in a profession where there’s all this projection around beauty and youth, and people assume that you care — and I feel like I’m not playing the game,” she admitted to Du Jour magazine. “I’ve always liked myself more every year in terms of who I am and the person I’ve become. I can’t imagine denying everything that comes with that.”
