Curvy Girls Love Victoria Beckham Collection (And We Know Why!)

By Tracey Lomrantz, Glamour magazine

She may be famous in part for her pin-thin frame, but it turns out Victoria Beckham knows a thing or two about how to flatter a seriously curvy figure.

The one and only Oprah Winfrey (a master of dressing her bod to maximum figure flattery) chose a frock from Victoria's fall 2010 collection for a recent appearance at the Maria Shriver Women's Conference, and she looked as perfectly polished as always. The secret? The dress drew attention to the right places (that enviable cleavage and slim waist) and away from the wrong ones (the broadest section of her hips were quite literally hidden away under a swath of fabric).

Oprah's not the first curvy celeb to embrace Victoria's designs, either. We've seen both Jennifer Hudson and Ugly Betty star America Ferrera in the same black peplum cocktail dress:

This one works on the same level as Oprah's, pulling all eyes to the decolletage (remember my rule for wearing square necklines if you're curvy?) and cinching the slimmest part of the silhouette, then balancing it out with broad shoulders to make the rest of the bod appear even more sleek.

Last month on The View, Victoria said, "I want to celebrate a woman's curves. I love a woman's body and I want to make women look and feel fantastic," and it looks like she's getting her wish. Even if you can't afford a Victoria Beckham Collection original (yeah yeah, most of us would need Oprah's salary to), you can still take cues from her line on how to look your best.
