Do You Agree with Maxim's Sexy List?

By Sarah Wexler,Allure magazine

I certainly don't! This week, Maxim magazine released its list of the "world's 100 hottest women." Their top pick is a Victoria's Secret model (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, one category that both men and women both seem to find sexy. But the rest of the list completely illustrates the difference between how men and women think about sexy.

For example, I think Sofia Vergara and Christina Hendricks are some of the hottest women alive-certainly top five material-yet they came in at numbers 29 and 56, respectively. And somehow Jennifer Lopez, who's looking better than ever before on this season of American Idol and was recently named People's Most Beautiful Woman, didn't even make the list; neither did Blake Lively, Kate Hudson, or Julia Roberts.

Considering the list is supposed to be the hottest women in the world, where are the mentions for international beauties like Freida Pinto, Salma Hayek, Penelopé Cruz, and stunning Bollywood queen Aishwarya Rai? Instead, this list reveals a lot about what men find sexy. It skews young (Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Vanessa Hudgens, Jennifer Lawrence), doesn't mind reality TV as a way to fame (JWoww, Whitney Port, Audrina Patridge), and has a thing for women who are tornadoes of self-destruction (Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Lindsay Lohan).
