Before we tell you all about Maleficent, what's soon be your next favorite Disney princess movie, let's clear one thing up: If you're thinking, "Ummmm, Disney princess movie? I'm not in the fifth grade!", this has nothing in common with your little sister's old copy of Beauty and the Beast.

The upcoming blockbuster, out next spring, is inspired by the 1959 animated take on Sleeping Beauty, which is, of course, based on an old Brothers Grimm tale. Remember last year's onslaught of Snow White-inspired blockbusters? This is kiiiinda like that. It's a twisted dark fantasy flick that also happens to be live-action (translation: acting, not animation!), and it has an all-star cast that includes Elle Fanning, Juno Temple, and Angelina Jolie. Also? It tells the story from the villain's POV. Sort of like Wicked (which, fun fact, will be coming to a big screen near you in the not-so-distant future).
Elle plays the gorgeous Princess Aurora AKA Sleeping Beauty herself-a no-brainer, because not only is the 15-year-old actress beautiful, but she also frequently dresses like a princess on the red carpet. And as for the token villain, there's no ugly wicked witch to be found in this flick-the self-proclaimed Mistress of All Evil is played by a ravishing, albeit terrifying, Angelina.
That's pretty much all we know so far, because the movie still has six months to go until it's ready. So without further adieu, watch the trailer!
