Emmy Beauty Secrets from the Stars

Forget the Valentinos, the Louboutins, and the Neil Lanes...what the Emmy Awards left this beauty editor wondering was, OMG where can I get hair like that? The red carpet was full of amazing beauty looks, from relaxed to polished, retro to modern, courtesy of some of the most trusted beauty brands. You might not be able to afford the dress, but here's how to recreate some of those looks at home.

Aubrey Plaza's Summery Glow

Wearing a filmy Juan Carlos Obando halter dress, Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza sported a modern take on a classic '40s updo, as well as spectacularly luminous skin, courtesy of St. Tropez. Celebrity tanner and St. Tropez founder Fiona Locke gave Plaza an airbrushed skin-finishing treatment topped off with a coat of St. Tropez Skin Illuminator to get her camera-ready.

Runway Beauty Trends Straight from Fashion Week

Kate Winslet's Natural Beauty

Avon Global Creative Color Director Jillian Dempsey created Kate's simple and sophisticated makeup look for the night. "To show off her gorgeous skin, we kept her face basic and highlighted her cheeks with a soft blush," she said. Dempsey used soft taupe eye shadows and Lancôme Hypnose Drama Mascara in Excessive Black to define the eyes. On the lips, Kate wore Lancôme Color Design Lip Color in Camisole, along with a clear Avon Glazewear Lip Gloss for extra shine.

Naya Rivera's Sleek Chignon

Naya Rivera's stylist Brian Magallones wanted her hair to look elegant and chic, complementing the interesting architectural neckline on her gown. He straightened her curly hair, using Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Thermal Protection Formula to shield it from heat damage, then used a curling iron to create some wave. He gathered Naya's hair into a ponytail just below the crown and formed a slightly undone chignon by twisting and pinning. He held the look in place with Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm-Hold Hairspray.

The Best and Worst Emmy Awards Gowns

Kaley Cuoco's Spunky Nails

Actress Kaley Cuoco, from The Big Bang Theory, kept things youthful and fresh by accenting her gorgeous asymmetrical Romona Keveza dress with a fun two-tone nail look, courtesy of OPI. Cuoco wore OPI lacquer in creamy, neutral Over the Taupe on every nail but her ring fingers, where she sported Big Apple Red, which perfectly complemented her accessories.

Julie Bowen's Sophisticated Side Ponytail

Which was more envy-inducing: Julie Bowen's Emmy for her work on Modern Family, or her amazing and elegant low ponytail? It's a close call. While we can't help you with the acting career, we can tell you that Pureology PureArtist Sherilynn Smart recommends getting the style by using Pureology ColourStylist AntiBreakage Twist as you blow-dry hair, to keep hair healthy and protected. Use a flat iron to make sure hair is extra-straight, then apply ColourStylist CuticlePolisher to create shine and definition, securing the ponytail with an elastic.

Bowen's skin received a boost from Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer, to soften, smooth, and provide extra polish.

Jane Krakowski's Soft Waves

"We went with a modern twist on an old-Hollywood look," said stylist Creighton Bowman, who gave 30 Rock star Jane Krakowski these gorgeous sleek waves. "I would call it 'textured elegance.'" Bowman used Frizz-Ease Straight Fixation Smoothing Crème on Jane's damp hair, and then blow-dried it. He used a curling iron to give texture and shine, and teased the hair at the crown to add volume.
