Fashion Invasion in NYC

Betsey Johnson Holiday Tree @ the Park Plaza Hotel NYC

Betsey Johnson displayed a personally decorated Christmas tree at the Park Plaza Hotel in Mid town NYC. The tree has been on display since December 2010 and will stay up through January 2011. Staying true to Betsey form, the tree was a glowing pallet of her signature colors: hot pink ,fuchsia, and black and white, with feathers flowing from every branch. Hand cut ornaments including paper dolls, snowflakes and hand painted bulbs from Betsey herself filled every branch and as well as the tree skirt. Boxed gifts, books, and Betsey apparel were stacked under the tree as if waiting for a mini fashionista to come and unwrap. Head down the stairs in the hotel and you will find a Betsey boutique filled with Johnson's jewels, scarves, hats, and a multitude of casual yet dramatic apparel. Not only did Betsey add her personal touch, she incorporated the classic children's story "Eloise". The adventures of Eloise focus on a little girl who lives in the Park Plaza Hotel.

Lady Gaga's Workshop @ Barney's Mid town NYC

If you happen to be in the NYC area over the next couple of weeks, head over to the Barney's store located in Mid town on 61st street and 6th Ave and be prepared for a "monster" of a time. Take the Gaga inspired elevator ride to the 5th floor and prepare yourself for the "monster" of a scene you are about to enter. From the minute the doors open you can feel the Gaga spirit flowing from the speakers blasting her lyrics, to the hand crafted monster inspired displays. The exhibit has a variety of the designer, musicians favorite pieces, including signature jewelry from her performances, the claw like nails seen worn by the artist herself, and an entire section of candy themed gifts and novelties. As you make your way around the room you can't help but get sucked into Gaga's creative imagination not to mention the frenzy of shoppers grabbing at any token they can get their paws on from leather jackets to Gaga bubble bath. Even we fell subject to the chaos adding the famous lobster claw shoe earrings and photo book to our shopping bags. If you are looking for that one conversation piece to add a little color and drama to an outfit, the Gaga Workshop will definitely not leave you disappointed.
