Fashion that makes us sad: Stella McCartney $2,000 plexiglass clutch

We've seen some really ugly handbags in our day, but here's one we don't quite understand. The $1,995 round plexiglass box clutchby Stella McCartney is essentially a shallow plastic jar that snaps open to hold your necessities.Doesn't it look like some fancy jar of face cream?At only six inches in diameter and two inches deep, there may not even be enough room for your wallet, cellphone, and keys.

Here's the description, per Net-a-porter.com:

"The ultimate in minimal design, Stella McCartney's round plexiglass box clutch will make maximum impact at cocktail hour. Carry it with a chic white pant suit to channel the label's effortlessly elegant aesthetic."

Well, it certainly is minimal, and we know polka-dots are all the rage right now, but we think this clutch looks stupid, impractical, cheap, and awkward to hold. But some ladies must like it, because it's already sold out! What do you think of this round plexiglass clutch?
