It seems like every fall someone in the fashion world proclaims the return of backpacks, but it feels gimmicky, like those horrid tiny baby backpacks from the '90s. The truth is, most grown women don't like walking around with two straps around their shoulders. Typically backpacks are associated with kids going back to school, but in recent years many designers like Louis Vuitton and Alexander Wang have created fancy backpacks for adults. The latest designer backpack comes from the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's high-end line called The Row. And it costs $39,000. We know it's made of crocodile, but is it worth a yearly salary? Or a year of college tuition?

When I was a kid, I had the L.L. Bean Deluxe Book Pack and it lasted me from 6th grade through senior year of high school. I just looked it up on the company's website and it now costs $45. You could buy 866 backpacks for the same price as this crocodile one-enough to outfit an entire school!

Who would pay nearly four Gs for a backpack? Apparently two of them have been pre-ordered... perhaps by the Olsen Twins themselves? If you're interested you'll be able to pick one up shortly at Barney's and Barneys.com.
