Liposuction is one of the most desired surgeries amongst women, but it's also potentially one of the most dangerous. Plus, have you ever seen seen one of those reality shows where the patient is getting lipo with that horrible vacuum hose thing? Ugh, so gross. So we spend our days doing squats and lunges and rubbing fancy creams on our thighs in hopes of getting rid of bumps and bulges, of which, let's face facts, are going nowhere. Or are they?

Recently the FDA approved a technique called CoolSculpting by Zeltiq which promises to freeze off your fat. This cryolipolysis (aka fat-freezing) machine targets hips, thighs, bellies, arms, and any other place you want slimmed and chills it down to a point where fat cells are damaged. These lipocyte cells die off in the next few weeks and are broken down by your liver and lymphatic system.

According to an article in W, Santa Monica dermatologist Ava Shamban has used the CoolSculpting treatment on over 700 patients so far and charges around $500 per area. "You can see as much as a 20 percent decrease after one treatment, and the fat cell reduction continues for about three months," Shamban told W. The procedure is said to be noninvasive, and requires no recovery time. An affordable and painless way to get rid of fat that doesn't involve scary tubes? Ooh, we really see this catching on. "It has definitely revolutionized the way we think about fat reduction," said Shamban. "Watch out, cellulite. You're next."

What do you guys think? Is CoolSculpting the new Botox? You you be willing to try it, and which area would you want to target first?
