Five Fabulously Fattening Mascaras
The other day at a press event, I watched a group of spindly editors uncomfortably decline a buffet of scones with clotted cream, cream puffs, and even pastries adorned with edible gold leaf. But when the brand's PR rep passed around her line's best-selling mascara, each and every editor gushed over how deliciously fattening the formula was.
When it comes to mascara, thin ain't in. We like our lashes beefy. If you do, too, check out my current body-building favorites.
Avon Supershock Mascara. I thought I was used to gargantuan brushes by now (heck-o, DiorShow!), but even this one threw me for a loop. The super-fine bristles add density and manage to catch the teeniest lash-that's highly unusual for a thickening mascara.
Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express. Years ago, Dick Page described Maybelline Volum' Express as best for "slutty" looking lashes. (He meant it as the highest compliment.) This follow-up mascara is even more overt-the brash, wildly packaged tube delivers big, sexy lashes with just one swoop. Fun!
ck Calvin Klein True Lashes Volumizing Mascara. Thick lashes, done in typical Calvin Klein style: Glorified naturalism. Your lashes will look fuller than they did before, but the difference is subtle.
Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara. Everyone knows olive oil packs the good kind of fat. Maybe that's why Neutrogena infused their formula with it-the oil is said to plump the lash from within. My lashes certainly looked chubbier.
Fresh Supernova Mascara. After just one coat of this, your lashes are curled, lengthened, and thick and lush as velvet. Ahhhh.
