Go Barefoot For A Cause: Help TOMS Celebrate One Day Without Shoes Tomorrow!

Even hopelessly devoted Slaves to Fashion need a break from their Louboutins every once in a while, right? That's where TOMS Shoes come in: The groundbreaking company built on one simple idea (for every pair of shoes purchased, a new pair is given to a child in need) is asking people all across the world to go barefoot tomorrow.

In many parts of the world, poor children are forced to walk miles to school or to get food and water, and they're exposed to dangerous diseases via the soles of their feet--easily prevented by a simple pair of shoes. TOMS Shoes aims to get every child in need properly shod, and to help bring attention to this important cause, they're hosting their third annual "One Day Without Shoes" campaign. People all over the world will slip out of their stilettos and sneakers to try and understand, for just one day, what it feels like to go barefoot.

"A shoe company asking people to go barefoot? I know it's odd, but we are so excited for people to once again join us in One Day Without Shoes," TOMS founder and "chief shoe giver" Blake Mycoskie says. "We ask people to go the day, part of the day, or even just a few minutes, barefoot, to experience what millions of children endure every day. Awareness and empathy are the catalysts of change." Head to www.OneDayWithoutShoes.com to find out about events in your area or to pledge to go barefoot tomorrow--everyone who RSVPs for an event will have a chance to win a spot on one of Blake's famous TOMS Shoe Drops. Celebrities from Kristen Bell (watch her campaign video here) to the Jonas Brothers to Heather Graham have all pledged to go barefoot tomorrow--will you embrace your inner hippie for a truly worthy cause, too?
