Got Jiggle? Here's How to Hide It!

By Stylists from Style2020 for GalTime.com

We all have our problem areas and trouble zones, but regardless of shape or size, you too can feel comfortable and confident! Read on for some expert advice from our stylists on how to create your most flattering silhouette.

Arms: Got a little extra jiggle you're not too fond of? Not to worry, there is a solution. It is best to choose fabrics that don't amplify the upper arm, but that gently skim the skin; think rayon, crepe, silk or soft matte jersey. In addition, try to divert the attention to the thinner, firmer part of your arm (from your elbow to your wrist) with a three quarter sleeve or bracelet sleeve. Stay away from the unflattering look of a cap or elastic sleeve that cuts your arm at the widest part. Anything that resembles a kimono or bell sleeve is always flattering!

Stomach: When it comes to concealing a tummy, there are so many great tricks of the trade. Of course, you'll want to avoid anything too tight that will draw unwanted attention to this area. Stay away from elastic waists, thick belts or long, fitted tees that add emphasis to your tummy. The key is to draw the eye elsewhere and create visual confusion. A dress or top with a raised waist focuses on the narrowest part of your body and glides over the rest. Another great way to camouflage this area is with ruching and draping details.

Hips & Thighs: The best way to flatter this area is to redirect the focus elsewhere. Avoid faded wash jeans, tapered pants, and tops that hit you mid-thigh. The key here is to create balance between your upper and lower half. A great way to accomplish this is with a boot cut or wide leg trouser. Draw the focus to your top half with a ruffled or embellished top, or give colorblocking a try!

Back: Oh, the dreaded back fat! A proper fitting bra is a must! It will help prevent unwanted bulges. Avoid body hugging knits and jersey. Instead, opt for crisp cotton and other flowy fabrics that will glide over the skin. Draping or shirred tops will work wonders for this area, as will patterned tops to create visual confusion. And don't forget about body shapers! As shown below, a control top tank will help to create a smooth silhouette underneath your clothes.
