Guess what, Bettys? It's Michelle Obama's birthday today! Happy birthday to the most stylish First Lady around! Since our fearless FLOTUS is enterting her 48th year today, we thought we'd celebrate the occasion by taking a peek at our favorite of her looks from the year she just left-her 47th. Happy birthday, Michelle!

1. Lady in (Orange) Red

Like Duchess Catherine, the First Lady is a big fan of Alexander McQueen. She sported this stunning orange-red patterned gown at a State Dinner given in honor of China's President Hu Jinato on January 19, 2011. True, her choice of gown cause some controversy due its being from a British designer, rather than an American one; but there's no denying it: She looks fantastic in it!

2. South American Tour

Michelle wore this bright and sunny number during her and Baracks's five day tour of South America in March. Her traveling wardrobe is noted for the fact that it constantly references the regions she visits, and the South American trip was no exception. Her wardrobe here was full of bright colors and bold prints, like this stylish yet comfortable Marc Jacobs dress. Good call.

3. Euro-Casual

President and Mrs. Obama hit Europe in May, and she donned some gorgeous outfits during the trip. She went casual at Oxford University by pairing an Alexander McQueen Victorian Bustle cotton shirt with a matching, multi-buckled belt. Cool, chic, and pulled together.

4. Tea with the Queen

Okay, so technically she and Barack didn't have tea with Queen Elizabeth-they went one step further and had dinner with her! Michelle looked royally beautiful in an off-the-shoulder Ralph Lauren gown with some major bling strung around her neck.

5. On the Go

Another terrific colorful travel outfit, Michelle wore this on a flight to New York in September. The multi-print silk dress is by Duro Olowu; and because she's awesome, she turned it into even more of a statement by adding a canary yellow cardigan, orange flats, and a thick red belt. The laughter is the best accessory of all, though!

6. All Corseted Up

Here's an unusual evening look: At the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Annual Phoenix Awards Dinner at the end of September, Michelle put together a floor-length sequin Michael Kors maxi-skirt, a basic three-quarter length top, and a Peter Soronen corset belt. The result is an unexpected but stunning textured, all-black outfit. She embellished it with black and silver bracelets and a bejeweled necklace.

7. Pretty in Purple

FLOTUS wore this stunning purple number in October at a State Dinner honoring South Korea. Appropriately, this one-shoulder gown was designed by Korean-American designer Doo-Ri Chung. With a teal belt to finish off the look, Michelle proves herself to be the master of color-blocking. Bonus: Here's how to get Michelle's look for less!

8. Get Tropical!

Michelle got all tropical in November! She wore this summery, yellow silk dress to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation leaders' spouses luncheon at Kualoa Ranch in K'a'awa. Is the look perfect, or is the look perfect?

9. The Holiday Spirit

Michelle pulled out another great Marc Jacobs ensemble in December. This seasonally appropriate burgundy outfit was perfect for spreading holiday cheer at the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

10. It's Easy Being Green

Shortly after Christmas, the Obamas made a visit to the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii. Though the occasion was somber, Michelle's bright green look certainly didn't. Hello, color-blocking!
