Insider Tips to Stay Stylish on the Beach

Whether you're hitting the beach or the boardwalk, George Kotsiopoulos, E! Fashion Police co-host and JustFab.com style expert has some helpful hints for feeling confident and looking chic all summer.

Flatter your figure: Be sure to pick a suit that flatters your body type. Kotsiopoulos suggests a string bikini, because a bathing suit with less fabric can actually make you look smaller! For those of us not ready to break out the itty bitty bathing suit, there are lots of one-pieces with body shapers built-in for extra coverage.

Summer trends: Neoprene scuba style suits were huge on the spring/summer 2013 runway and something Kotsiopoulos thinks is a totally worth trying. But opt not for the retro pin-up style trend, instead he suggests going for cut-out one piece to show off a sexy side. But don't forget to load up on sunscreen and stay in the shade to prevent crazy tan lines!

Lighten up the accessories: Aim to keep accessories simple, with a small necklace and studs you wouldn't mind getting wet. Just in case you're planing to hit the town after your beach trip, throw some staple pieces into your beach bagsuch as a few bangles, to take your day look well into the night. Kotsiopoulos also suggests keeping your beach bag neutral. You want something that can withstand the sun and sand but not get too hot, so forgo the patent leather for something straw or woven.

The right shoes are a must: A beach trip calls for simple flat sandals that are easy to walk with in the sand, but still on-trend (for when you hit the boardwalk). If you're poolside, Kotsiopoulos would suggest taking it up a notch with a cork or espadrille wedge to help lengthen your legs.

Cover up: Try something simple to cover up your suit, like cut-offs and a flowy top, or even a simple sundress. The perfect cover-up should be something that can easily transition from day to night, so you don't have to change in-between the pool and drinks and with girls!
