Kate Middleton’s Poppy Brooch: What it Means + Where to Get It

Similar to the way Americans remember Veteran's Day (it's today!), the British have Remembrance Day, also known as Poppy Day, which the United Kingdom celebrated yesterday with a series of events. In London, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge attended a ceremony at the Cenotaph War Memorial in Whitehall, London, for which she wore her Diane Von Furstenberg black coat and Philip Treacy hat (both repeats), and accessorized her all-black outfit with an appropriately-themed poppy flower pin. The brooch, a piece covered in red and black crystals, is sold by the Royal British Legion, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to enlistees, veterans, and their families. You can pick up one of your own for $24 on poppyshop.org.uk.
