After a day "off" yesterday (during which Kate and William played Candy Crush and binged on Game of Thrones, we're sure), the royal couple was back to the grind today in Australia, as they made a whole host of appearances. The two arrived in the northern territory of the country on a flight from Canberra, first visiting the National Indigenous Training Academy (where they met locals and presented certificates to graduates), and then the Uluru Cultural Centre (where the couple participated in an aborigine welcoming ceremony). While William did handle a snake at the cultural center, the most coveted photo op of the day occurred when the two reached Uluru-formerly known as Ayers Rock-in the Australian Outback, which is known as a "legendary beauty spot."

Charles and Diana-then the Prince and Princess of Wales-had posed there 31 years ago, and while the backdrop certainly appears more striking in the Kate-William 2014 shot ("Did they put this picture through one of those new-fangled Instagoon filters?" - the Queen), their sartorial choices are quite similar! Both William and Charles went for the all-khaki look; meanwhile, the women are wearing white dresses vaguely reminiscent of one another (Kate's in a Hobbs Wessex dress here, which she previously wore in 2012).

The 90-second long "shoot" at the rock sounds like it was a tad uncomfortable. Per reports, as they positioned themselves for the photographs, William "joked" to Kate, "So what shall we talk about?" (This does little to assuage our well-documented concerns about the possible tension between the pair, though at least William refrained from making any sort of "Well, we can always play Tic Tac Toe if we get bored!" comments about her dress).

Per the Daily Mail, after discussing the pesky flies they had to contend with ("They were all coming for us," William lamented), the prince was later overheard telling Kate, "It's a beautiful sight, though. Quite breathtaking." After returning to their lodgings, Kate, on the phone with Pippa, no doubt vented, "As if I couldn't tell it was a beautiful sight on my own! Why, how fortunate am I to have Crocodile Dundee by my side to let me know!"
