Kate Middleton will walk down the aisle in flats

The royal wedding is just weeks away, and we're anxiously anticipating what everyone-especially bride-to-be-Kate Middleton-is going to wear to the wedding ceremony.
A group of designers from Manolo Blahnik to Giuseppe Zanotti all sketched potential footwear for Middleton's big day, but according to industry insiders, none of them were chosen for the actual wedding ceremony. Why? The future Mrs. Prince William is said to be wearing flats for the walk down the aisle at Westminster Abbey.

Huffington Post's Yvonne Yorke says Middleton's wedding day shoes will be slipper-like, covered with multiple layers of silk, and heavily embroidered. We love that Middleton is going the practical route for her vows. It's a long walk down the aisle, and if fashion week is any indication, falling down from impractical heels is could potentially eclipse the actual festivities.

Supposedly Middleton has commissioned four pairs of shoes (including the flats) for her big day each with varying heel heights to accompany several different dresses. We can't wait to see all her wardrobe changes. We also hope she's got some good dancing shoes for the reception, because no one wants a "Gloria Gaynor fracture!"
