The fine folks at People got the inside scoop on just how Kate Middleton pulled together that enviable wardrobe for her Australia tour, and it's pretty interesting.

A few highlights:

- Kate traveled to New Zealand and Australia with a small crew, including Natasha Archer (official title: Personal Secretary to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge), who worked with the personal shopping departments of various stores and designers to get a ton of dress and accessories options for the Duchess to choose from.
- Merchandise was delivered care of Archer to Kensington Palace with the understanding that Kate would pay for anything she wore. A sleuth at the Daily Mail tallied up the cost to be around $65,000!
- It's a given that Kate's custom pieces are made to measure, but even off-the-rack items are tailored to fit her frame. Every woman should give this a try.
