Lady Gaga’s fragrance will smell like semen, but Playboy’s perfume will not

Lady Gaga never does anything that isn't completely over the top and outrageous (wearing a dress made out of meat, attending baseball games in lingerie, etc), so we weren't completely shocked to learn what the notes might be in her first signature fragrance. According to Fashionista, sources close to the perfume developer says Gaga wants her perfume to "smell of blood and semen." We can totally imagine the pop star wanting to wear this fragrance, but the idea of deliberately spritzing on the scent of bodily fluids makes us want to gag.

The sad part is, this idea has kind of been done before. Last fall, Rad Hourani launched a series of fragrances called Six Scents, one of which was inspired by semen. And on a somewhat related note, actor Alan Cumming posed nude in hilarious fragrance ad spoofs for his own scent called Cumming back in 2004. That scent, however, featured notes of whiskey, cigars, and leather.

Playboy is also launching a line of fragrances, but thankfully there will be no semen involved. Play It Lovely, Play It Sexy, and Play It Spicy are inspired by the different ways a lady seduces her object of affection.

Play It Lovely is the lightest with notes of blackberry, peach, and amber. Play It Sexy is stronger, blending pink grapefruit and mandarin with licorice and vanilla. Play It Spicy is the boldest of the trio, featuring notes of pomegranate, tiger lily, passionflower, and sandalwood. The one ounce bottles will retail for $17 at drugstores just in time for Valentine's Day. Who knew Playboy's fragrances would be the safe option?!
