Pixies, bobs, and lobs are still riding the popularity wave. But if you, like me, recently chopped off all your hair, then start popping the Viviscal now, because fall 2014's biggest hair trend is the hair tuck. Yes, we quite literally mean tucking the mid-lengths and ends your hair into the necklines and collars of your clothes. On purpose.

At Tory Burch's fall show, every model walked the runway with her hair tucked into the back of a dress or a turtleneck collar. The result not only appeared effortless, it very nearly was. "It's the first show of the morning, I don't want to use product," said hairstylist Eugene Souleiman backstage. "I'm using water. I sprayed a little bit around the head so it gives a soft, natural wave." After blowing out the hair and spritzing it with water, he used a two-tuck approach: one side went behind the ear to expose the gilded ear cuffs, and the rest of the hair was pulled back and placed into the clothing.

The hair tuck also popped up at the BCBG, Burberry Prorsum, and Tom Ford shows. And here are a few reasons I love it. It's the beauty equivalent of throwing a jacket over your shoulders. You know, that too-cool-for-school dangly arms look. The hair tuck totally hides ends that may fried or scraggly, and any style that allows me to focus my attention on just the top half of my head is a winner.

When viewed from afar, the hair tuck looks suspiciously like a rumpled texture lob. Which means that my current haircut may still be cool come fall, now that a think of it. Everybody wins!
