Maybe I'm alone in this opinion, but I don't usually think of orange makeup as sexy. Fun, edgy, exciting, sure, but it's not a shade I'd necessarily choose to wear on a date. The orange makeup at the Clover Canyon Swim 2015 show this weekend, however, has me singing quite a different tune. Just look at it. Who knew orange could look so damn pretty?

Makeup artist Sarah Lucero's secret: using light, creamy formulas rather than matte, powdery ones. On the skin, she used a BB cream, which kept the face looking luminous rather than loaded up with foundation. For the cheeks, she mixed Stila Convertible Color in Gladiola and Peony, to match the model's skin tone. (By the way, if you haven't tried Convertible Color, you're seriously missing out--they're my favorite cream blushes of all time.) And as for the lips, Lucero also chose sheer formulas, blending a peach and an orange shade (Stila Color Balm Lipsticks in Avery and Valentina) on the back of her hand to create a "soft punch of color." Soft, beachy waves and a glowing (faux) tan aren't required but provide extra insurance that this makeup stays totally smoking hot.
