Lucky Mag Editor-In-Chief's Fail-Safe, Running Late Outfit

by Natalie Matthews

Our editor-in-chief, Eva Chen, needs a running late outfit more than most of us. She's busy. Really busy. Her default?

"Almost always a dress, because it's so much easier to just throw on one piece than try to coordinate separates. But it has to be a printed dress, one that packs a lot of visual impact. I've got some from Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler that are particularly amazing. For shoes, I'll add some sleek, pointy-toed heels. Gianvito Rossi makes really good ones, and I've also got a pair with some of that clear PVC material on them; they're versatile but more interesting than plain black or brown. Then I usually add a neutral bag and some sunglasses-I keep a stack of Warby Parkers by my door so I can grab them on the way out-and I'm done."

It sounds easy, but it centers around finding the right dress, like the floral Marc Jacobs one Eva's wearing above. (Which is almost enough to distract us from that puppy next to her. Almost.) It's got to be punchy colored or mixed print (or both), like these ones in the slideshow below. Click through to shop them all and the rest of the things from Eva's fail-safe, running late outfit formula. Your mornings will thank you.
