After the success of Madonna's "Material Girl" teen line for Macy's, the queen of pop will soon be launching a collection for adults. According to Women's Wear Daily, her new lifestyle brand called "Truth or Dare by Madonna" is another collaboration with Iconix Brand Group, only this time the line will be carried in multiple stores and will cater to women age 27 to 50. Madge herself will be the face of the brand.

"Over the past several years, I have been approached countless times to create my own brand," Madonna said in a statement. "The timing is right and I have found great partners in Iconix, who can help translate my vision to reality." Launching in April 2012, "Truth or Dare" will start with fragrance and expand to accessories, handbags, underwear, and possibly a full clothing line.

We understand why a celebrity would take baby steps into the already over-saturated fashion market, but we're kind of surprised it's taken Madonna so long. The "Material Girl" junior line has been a smash hit for teens who are experiencing fun '80s-inspired trends for the first time and because Madonna used her daughter Lourdes to tap into a younger demographic. But an adult line feels strange to be happening now. While current 27 to 50-year-olds were once Madonna's core fan base, most of us have moved on from jelly bracelets and the cone bras of the "Truth or Dare" era. Nowadays we see Madonna either in Adidas warm-ups or body-conscious designer gowns, so we're not sure what we can expect to see from the now 53-year-old entertainer.
