Miley Cyrus Gave Someone a Tattoo

We all know that Miley Cyrus likes a dang tattoo. She's into the art, into the meaning behind them, into the lifestyle they suggest. She is not alone in that sentiment, in these inked-up days of ours. But now Cyrus has crossed some sort of divide, becoming the tattooer instead of the tattooee. (Tattoee is the planet Luke Skywalker is from, right?)

As this is just how young people relate information now, Cyrus has posted an Instagram photo that shows her about to ink her friend's leg. Unless this is posed, it would appear that someone has allowed Miley Cyrus to give them a tattoo. Is that something you or I would do? Probably not. But we don't know Miley Cyrus the way this person does.

The person in question is one Cheyne Thomas, a constant but curious presence in Cyrus's life. The legend goes that Thomas was working in a Starbucks before Cyrus plucked him from obscurity and made him her personal assistant and frequent photo partner. Thomas has his own following now, with more than 150,000 Instagram followers, many of them young women and young men admiring his good looks. Thomas and Cyrus have been rumored to be lovers, but I don't exactly get that vibe from him.

Sure, tattooing someone could be seen as an intimate act, but I think this is a just-friends thing, in this case. Cyrus captioned the photo "BIEW," which is half of her nickname for Thomas, Biew Biew. Who knows what Biew Biew means, though we could guess that it's some pidgin version of "Baby," or its recent mutation, "BB." Or maybe it's something else entirely. We just don't know. Such is the mystery of Cheyne Thomas.

He hasn't posted a photo of a new tat, not on his leg anyway, so we have no way of knowing if Miley Cyrus has actually given him one. But if she is getting into the practice, I suppose a friend, an intimate and loyal companion, is a good canvas to start with. "Take of my body, dear Miley," Cheyne said, offering up his leg. "It, and I, exist for you." And so she did, picking up a needle and making permanent their connection.
