My Secrets to Caring for Curly Hair

By Christina Caradona, Glamour magazine

I've gotten a lot of emails these few past months, and most of them concern my hair and what I use. I remember doing a post where I talked about how I styled it, but I've never taken the time to shoot pictures of the actual products. I have a few favorites that I use almost everyday! I am in the process of figuring out how I am going to do a step-by-step for you-maybe even a video-what do you guys think? Maybe I'll wear some goggles and jump into my tub with my wetsuit on, ha!

Here are a few of my personal tips:

1. First off, I don't shampoo my hair a lot-maybe only two or three time a week. This doesn't mean that I don't take showers, I just don't want to wash away the natural oils in my hair. For instance, I will wet it and then just put conditioner on it. I use Pantene, because the smell is not overbearing, and it makes my hair feel like heaven. Even though it says to wash out the conditioner, I leave it in. I've never had any problems, and my hair has never been too "caked up." And I always say if it works...then it works!

2. I took a picture of the comb I use: This comb is probably the most important thing in my routine! I never go anywhere overnight without this three-dollar comb. It's the BEST! You can get it at any place where hair stuff is sold.

3. I picked up this coconut milk leave-in conditioner one day when I was in the city at a drugstore. I use it after I towel-dry, and before I comb-out my hair.

4. MoroccanOil has saved my hair from breaking off! All I need is a dime-size amount, and I use it in the morning, and also at night before going to bed. My hair is radiant afterwards.

5. Miss Jessie's Baby Buttercreme is actually new to me; I just started using it. I was afraid that my hair was going to be really dry in the morning, because right after you apply it to your wet hair it feels sorta...well, dry. But in the morning my hair was soft and my curls were a little bouncier!

It seems like a lot, right? It's actually not that much, and it feels nice to treat your hair sometimes, anyway! What sort of products have worked for you guys? Feel free to drop me any questions you may have that I haven't covered!
