Poll: Would You Borrow a Friend's Swimsuit?

As an Arizona native, I pretty much grew up in the pool. Once summer rolled around, my mom practically had to drag me and my brother -- kicking and screaming -- out of the water every night. Whenever my friends came over, it was only a matter of time before everyone was swapping swimsuits and splashing around like a mermaid (something I may still do in the privacy of my own tub). And if anyone forgot their suit, I had plenty on hand to share. But, now that I'm a little older, the idea kind of weirds me out.

While I have no problem borrowing the occasional dress or pair of shoes, I don't trade bathing suits anymore. I definitely think my friends are clean and sanitary, but just the thought of sharing something that's so close to underwear makes me cringe a little. "I don't care how close we are, I'm not wearing her intimate apparel." - Lynnzie G.

"I've let friends borrow swimsuits. If you have a sanitary issue, wash it. If you are worried about diseases then I guess you either know your friends too well, or not well enough." - Christian B.

"I'm not saying that my friends have 'something,' but no, I just would feel weird!" - Melissa O.

"I would if I was going into a pool, because I figure the chlorine would kill anything gross in it… I'd be hesitant if I was going in the lake or ocean though -- it'd have to be a good friend."- Sarah C.
