Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe is launching her own signature clothing line, and held a preview yesterday of her designs, one of which was a mod, black and white sequin dress. Teen Vogue fashion news director Jane Keltner de Valle was in attendance, and took note of the dress, as she recognized it somehow. Hours later she Tweeted a photo of the dress side-by-side next to a very similar vintage dress she styled for the magazine when giving an intern a makeover for the October 2007 issue. That original dress is from the NYC vintage shop What Goes Around Comes Around that. Zoe knocked off the very dress she once styled!

We know Rachel Zoe is a vintage clothing fanatic, but we're shocked that she would so blatantly copy a dress she has been photographed using before. Refinery29 reached out to the then-intern from the shoot, Elana Fishman, who said: "it was a vintage piece that Rachel bought and wore herself after the shoot. She originally got it at What Comes Around Goes Around and wore it to the Marc Jacob's after-party that Fashion Week." Busted.

Truth be told, designers are accused of copyright infringement all the time, but we assumed someone with such a strong fashion background and stylish eye like Zoe would never stoop to that level. Surely being caught like this will be embarrassing for her. Do you think Zoe, an acclaimed stylist, should have to remove the sequined dress from her collection?
