Light eyeliner might seem kinda pointless when you think about it, but here's the thing: It's not meant to define your eyes like dark eyeliner, it's meant to make them glow. Come see what I mean on Allison Williams, who a light shimmery golden beige on her rims at the UK premiere of season three of Girls.

Now, she might have a little dark eyeliner along her top lids right along the strip of faux lashes she's wearing, but it's really the bottom lids I want to focus on. There she's got the tiniest hint of beige eyeliner with a lighter white-gold eyeshadow in the inner corners of her eyes. What that light liner does isn't so much make her lower lash line look more dramatic as reflect light around her eyes, making them seem bigger and more glowy. And since there's not a whole mess of black kohl pencil there, she didn't have to worry about ending up with raccoon eyes by the end of the night. Bonus.
