The days of lying flat on the bed or sucking in your tummy to squeeze into a pair of skinny jeans may be coming to an end with the launch of Spanx's new denim collection.

Spanx, the flattering shapewear adored by so many women they have made founder Sara Blakely a billionaire, has just launched two types of legging-style jeans. They are both super slim cut. Shefinds.com reports that Spanx is offering a denim legging for $98 available in five colors and a waxed denim legging for $108 in two colors.

Both styles features a high, double-layer waist band (all the better to disguise a muffin top!) with a side zipper, which they say gives the "best fit, less bulk, and a flat, smooth tummy." They are made of a fabric they call "Real Lean Denim" which the company promises will "flatter your butt, thighs and legs every wear" and won't stretch out with wear.

These slimming jeans are setting the precedent for what appears to be a new market for shapewear-inspired denim. In early July, Levi's announced plans to launch their own version. Known as the Revel, they will be available online August 4. Levi's vice president of women's design, Jill Guenza, told Women's Wear Daily that the line will "take that curve innovation one step further by actively shaping a woman's body, giving her the legs and butt she always wanted."

For years, women have secretly raved to each other about the benefits of wearing slimming shapewear underneath their clothing. Blakely, who founded the company in 2000, got the idea for Spanx when she cut off a pair of control top panty hose to create a smoother line under her white jeans. Spanx lovers are addicted to the way they instantly rein in any wobbly bits or unsightly bulges.

This shapewear secret has been out of the closet for a few years. Even celebrities who use personal trainers and special diets to maintain a thin frames, have admitted to wearing the undergarments: "Yes, I'm wearing Spanx," actress Sarah Michelle Gellar told Us Weekly while walking the red carpet at an event on Monday. "And I've been wearing Spanx all day. God bless the woman that invented them!"

Other high-profile celebrities such as Jennifer Garner, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Sienna Miller are also fans.

"Every celebrity walking down the red carpet, you think she's all just naturally like 'shoooop.' A lot of them have Spanx on," Tyra Banks once said, according to StyleBistro. "You put 'em on, it sucks you up, baby. No matter what red carpet, I got 'em on. I look like a granny before I put the dress on, but I put on the dress, and it's like 'paow!'"

Will Spanx jeans be as popular their shapewear? If early sales are any indication, Blakely may have another booty smoothing hit on her hands. The jeans sold out the first day they were available online and are currently on a 6-7 week back order.
