Suri Cruise has $150,000 worth of shoes
Look out Imelda Marcos and move over Carrie Bradshaw! According to Star, five-year-old Suri Cruise, the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, has already amassed quite the shoe collection. The glossy is reporting that in addition to her designer wardrobe, little Suri's shoe closet is worth $150,000 and rivals that of most A-list celebrities. (For comparison, a recent poll said women spend $25,000 on shoes during their entire lives-six time less than Suri already has!) An insider told Star, "She's a massive fan of Marc Jacobs and she's had several shoes custom-made, so if they didn't come with a heel, Katie had them redesigned for Suri. She commissioned a pair of Louboutins for her a while back!"
First of all, I still find it odd that the five-year-old primarily wears pumps. Secondly, I bet Suri Cruise will outgrow her baby Louboutins faster than I'd be able to save up for a pair of the red-soled heels. In fact, there's no guesswork there, I'm NOT saving up $700+ to spend on a pair of heels. Ever.
The source also told Star that Tom Cruise completely supports Suri's stylish sensibility. "He encourages her to wear frilly dresses and tiny heels. He says Suri is growing up to be as fashionable as her mum!"
What kind of footwear did you wear when you were five years old? I can tell you what I wore. Thundercats sneakers with lightning bolts on them. Buster Brown T-strap Mary Janes. Plain white Keds. Some pink and white saddle shoes I had to beg my mom for. I did have a pair of pale pink patent flats I wore for special occasions only, but wearing heels (especially designer heels) never crossed my mind. They were for grown ups. And I knew nothing of designer brands until junior high, and even then it still seemed a world away. Some of these Hollywood kids sure lead different lives!
