The World's Largest Mall Opens: What Stores Would You Like To See There?

I spent some time in the Middle East last year for Dubai Fashion Week and after just a few hours in the United Arab Emirates capital, the national past time became very clear: not baseball, not modern art or dance, and no, not Nascar either. Dubai is one serious shopping city, graced with malls the size of some small villages (my favorite one had an indoor ski slope. Seriously). Today, Dubai outdoes itself with the grand opening of a 5.6 million square foot shopping mecca, the world's largest.

Minnesota's Mall of America looks like a mom and pop shop compared to this thing. As WWD is reporting, it has 1,200 stores, 160 places to eat and drink, a supermarket, an organic food store, an aquarium, and an Olympic-sized ice skating rink.

The Dubai Mall sets a new standard in insanely indulgent mall shopping. Unfortunately I don't see much of the mall these days, living in New York City, but I grew up spending weekends at Cinnabon and Merry-Go-Round at the Willowbrook Mall and was addicted to a silly talking board game called "Mall Madness" and perk up at any opportunity to visit my sister in the burbs so she can drag me around to 20 stores in 20 minutes. And I just may have to plan a return trip to Dubai to check this thing out. What do you guys think? Do you do most of your shopping at the mall? What are your can't-miss stores? What do you wish your mall had?
