Scrunchies were a late '80s and early '90s staple. Available in every type of material from cotton and terry to waffle knit and crushed velvet, the oversized, fabric-covered hair elastic went the way of slap bracelets and fannypacks--deep into the fashion graveyard. Now every time they resurface in pop culture people shudder. But really, what's so bad about scrunchies? Aside from being one more accessory to match to your outfit, they're far less damaging to hair-especially when your strands are wet. Marc by Marc Jacobs, ASOS, and American Apparel are all pushing scrunchies this season too. Love them or hate them, let's take a look at the all the cool chicks who have, and continue to wear them. Maybe you'll have a change of heart. By Joanna Douglas, Senior Fashion and Beauty Editor
