Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to Host Golden Globes Next Year?

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Because they are pros, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler only agreed to host only one Golden Globes-the award ceremony more famous for its open bar than its awards-rather than commit to M.C.-ing multiple years, Ricky Gervais jail sentence-style. But because they are pros, again, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler increased ratings and received glowing reviews-a rare feat for award show hosts-after delivering home viewers the "drunken," "slightly ghetto" evening they had promised this year (complete with a complimentary side of relationship advice for Taylor Swift). Predictably, NBC is looking to double down on its good Golden Globes fortune by inviting the the beloved comedy duo back to host next year's ceremony.

However, Deadline reports that NBC and Golden Globes producer Dick Clark Productions are playing it cool by gauging the pair's interest in a hosting encore before making a formal offer. Perhaps they are taking this approach since Fey and Poehler made it crystal clear during their monologue that they were hoping for a one-time stint. Poehler began the show by promising to avoid edgy jokes because, she deadpanned, "as we learned from Ricky Gervais, when you run afoul with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, they ask you to host the Golden Globes two more times." Currently, Fey and Poehler are enjoying the fruits of their non-contractually-obligated-to-host-more-award-shows labors. Fey recently sold two comedy projects while Poehler remains star and producer of NBC's Parks and Recreation.

We're not quite sure what NBC will offer them, but we're pretty confident the Internet would start a Kickstarter campaign to make up any difference if it could ensure Fey and Poehler host every Golden Globes, and other major award show for that matter, forever. They are the best possible M.C.s/crisis counselors for the booze-soaked three-hour ordeal, and, besides, Taylor Swift may need some more love advice.
