Tina Fey, JLo and More: The Best Dressed Celebs at the 2012 Oscars
It's the usual suspects: Natalie Portman, Cameron Diaz, Michelle Williams and the rest of the women who looked fantastic at the 84th Academy Awards.

The Artist and The Help went head to head in almost every category at the Oscars last night. And who won Best Actress? Meryl Streep! She wasn't in either of the aforementioned movies, but she did portray Margaret Thatcher (beautifully, in my opinion) in Iron Lady.
Pastel shades were the hot trend of the night, though a few celebs like Natalie Portman, Tina Fey and Leslie Mann bucked the trend. And in a sea of pale frothy creations they stood out in the very best way.
But enough with the boring analysis! Let's get on to the good stuff… who wore it best!
Jennifer Lopez
Wowza! Jennifer Lopez wears Zuhair Murad a lot on the red carpet and she was a knock-out in his ivory beaded gown. I seemed to have missed the boob sitch (I was probably looking for a chip to munch on when it occurred), but even without using fashion tape, she looked fab. Jennifer wore sparkling earrings and rings from Lorraine Schwartz and finished the look with L'Oreal Paris Infallible 8HR Le Gloss in Coral sands. Now that's something we can afford!
Cameron Diaz
Does this woman age? She still looks the same as she did in The Mask. Loved, loved, loved the nudish Gucci Premiere silk strapless gown with the silk chiffon diagonal strips! It was modern, but very romantic. On her feet, Cameron Diaz wore Ferragamo blush satin peep toe pumps. She also sported diamond and platinum jewelry from Tiffany's (lucky girl) and Lancôme Rouge in Love lip color in Roses in Love.
Milla Jovovich
Oh, who cares that they're coming out with Resident Evil 23? The combination of Milla Jovovich's dark hair, startling blue eyes and icy white beaded gown was a visual treat. The couture gown and her shoes were from Elie Saab, while her box clutch was from Edie Parker.
Natalie Portman
New mommy Natalie Portman looked totes adorb last night - those bright, warm colors really compliment her complexion and hair. If you thought her gown looked vintage ... it was! The polka dotted creation is a 1954 Christian Dior Haute Couture gown. I'd almost maim someone for it. She topped off the look with a statement platinum and diamond necklace, bracelets and earrings from Harry Winston. But how did her hair stay so well-behaved? Frederic Fekkai's Adir Abergel finished her 'do with Fekkai's Coiff Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray, of course.
Michelle Williams
The woodland pixie otherwise known as Michelle Williams wore a stunning burnt orange Louis Vuitton gown and Forever Mark jewels and carried a pink clutch. Sweetly stunning.
Jessica Chastain
There are times when Jessica Chastain looks incredible on the red carpet, and there are times when "meh" is the politest thing you can say about what she wore. For the Oscars, though, she pulled out the stops and wore a custom-created gown by Alexander McQueen. Sarah Burton, the designer for the line, used gold bullion to embroider it! Celebrity manicurist Debbie Leavitt used Essie's Berry Hard, a deep maroon, on her nails.
Elle Kemper
Bridesmaids star Ellie Kemper literally glowed in her bronze Armani Prive gown. The base of the gown was red. Sewn on top were square paillettes in scarlet, yellow and orange. Her accessories were bold gold pieces (earrings, clutch, bracelet) that complimented the fiery dress.
Wendi McLendon-Covey
Fellow Bridesmaids star Wendi McLendon-Covey went the opposite direction from Ellie Kemper and wore a tulle embroidered ball gown in a pale blush pink. I loved the '50s prom gown vibe of the outfit.
Tina Fey
30 Rock's Tina Fey has come a long, long way on the red carpet. When you first saw her, you wondered if she was treating award shows like an SNL sketch. The last few events she's been to, she looked incredible. Last night, in her navy peplum gown by Carolina Herrera, black satin tube clutch by Roger Vivier and Bulgari jewels (ooh, those earrings!), she looked like a superstar. She told Ryan Seacrest, "At first I feared the peplum." We're glad she overcame her fear! Do not fear the peplum!
Kate Mara
Rooney Mara's big sis, fellow actress Kate Mara, wore a pale pink one-sleeve gown by designer Jack Guisso. I love the thin belt; it really accented her figure.
Leslie Mann
Don't you love someone who dresses for herself? Actress Leslie Mann showed her support for hubby Jude Apatow (such a cute, sexy couple!) in a figure-hugging beaded navy gown by Roberto Cavalli.
