Top Stylists Reveal Their Oscar Red Carpet Predictions
Six top-tier stylists share their predictions and aspirations for what the brightest stars of this year's Oscars will wear for their big night.
ESTEE STANLEY: Sandra Bullock
L.A.-based stylist and interior designer Estee Stanley has more than 15 years' experience dressing style stars, from the Olsen sisters to Jessica Biel to Jennifer Anniston. Her aesthetic is as eclectic and creative as her clients.
She Will : "I think Sandra always looks great, and I would like to see her in something like this Marchesa (far left) look that is reminiscent of the dress she wore to the Academy Awards last year. I think she will wear something sexier than the Jenny Packham dress she wore to the Golden Globes."
I Wish : "This Emilio Pucci look (right) would be perfect with Vhernier chunky jewels and a sexy super-high heel."
ESTEE STANLEY: Halle Berry
She Will : "Something sexy and body-conscious like this Cavalli dress (far left)."
I Wish : "I think she should wear Lacroix or a dress like this (right) from Chanel's spring collection. Both designers are classy but have just the right amount of edge. There is a new jewelry line at Barneys called Munnu that's amazing and would partner well with either of these designers. I would recommend a simple satin pump here."
JOE ZEE: Michelle Williams
Elle's creative director is one of the most sought-after names in fashion and has styled stars from Taylor Swift to Johnny Depp to Lady Gaga.
She Will : "Michelle usually gravitates toward unexpected silhouettes, and she loves floral embellishments. This peach Valentino (far left) would look great with her coloring and is consistent with her feminine pixie style."
I Wish : "I would like to see Michelle take more risks. This saffron McQueen dress (right) is as original and creative as Michelle and makes a very strong statement that she is a style star who will continue to surprise us."
JOE ZEE: Natalie Portman
She Will : "The Best Actress nominee isn't afraid to show off her baby bump, and she has been doing so during her red carpet moments this awards season. I think this Valentino gown (far left) is a simple and obvious option for her. The silhouette is perfect for a preggers Portman."
I Wish : "Chanel is always hot! Natalie will stop the show in this couture piece (right) from S/S11. It's completely unexpected and something she could totally pull off. Most stars stick to comfortable, classic silhouettes while pregnant. This piece will stand out, and the talk will be about her dress, not the extra pounds!"
LESLIE FREMAR: Michelle Williams
The fashion insider began her career styling editorials for a magazine, then went on to lead celebrity styling for Prada. She dresses everyone from Maggie Gyllenhaal to Jennifer Connelly.
She Will: "The Blue Valentine star always wears something demure, covered, and pixielike. I expect she will choose something like this Chanel couture dress, which is in that vein."
I Wish : "I'd like to see her take a bigger risk and show off her body with a look like this Gaultier couture dress from spring."
LESLIE FREMAR: Nicole Kidman
She Will : "The Rabbit Hole star likes to wear white, and she likes dresses with interesting details and unexpected silhouettes. I expect she will wear something like this Givenchy couture dress (far left) from spring."
I Wish : "The actress is so statuesque and strikingly beautiful that I wish she would go a little bit over the top and wear something unexpected like this look (right) from McQueen's pre-fall collection."
