Despite the strides toward more comfortable attire that women have made in recent years, if they want to tower over the red carpet in four-inch heels, agony remains a given. In fact, running to all the parties during Oscar week, even my feet were killing me, and I'm a guy (who, unlike Jared Leto in Dallas Buyers Club, sticks to flats). To investigate just how painful spiky heels really are during the awards' season finale marathon--including at the Academy Awards, the QVC Red Carpet Style event, the Fiji Water's Spirit Independent Awards, Perrier Jouet and MAC cocktails for Women in Hollywood, Essence magazine's Black Women in Hollywood lunch, and the Fiji and Moet Dinner for Sony Oscar nominees--we asked: How will your feet feel at midnight?

Jaime King: "Honey, my shoes are going to be off my feet at midnight. They already hurt. My knees are killing me. Oh, my Gosh, I never wear heels, only on the red carpet."

Christin Milioti (The Wolf of Wall Street): "They're platforms from Jimmy Choo, and I just destroyed this dress. At midnight? Terrible."

Carmen Electra: "They're Louboutins. They usually hurt, but I think the open toe saved me tonight."

Whitney Port: "These shoes are not too bad. I chose them for a reason, because I knew it was going to be wet and cold tonight. And they're not too bad."

Coca Brown (The Single Mom's Club):
"My feet are feelin' really good, honey, because I'm jelling. And you can pick them up at CVS."

Zoe Kravitz: "You know what, these shoes are Balenciaga, and they are actually quite comfortable."

Elisabeth Rohm (American Hustle): "These shoes are great. They're by Paul Andrew, and he's my new favorite, because they're so comfortable."

John Waters (slip-on sneakers): "These shoes are Comme des Garçon and are just very comfortable. I was afraid about the rain."

Ming Na Wen (Agents of Shield): "These shoes feel pretty good right now. And I will not be wearing them at midnight. I have an ABC event, but it ends at 9 o'clock P.M."

June Squibb (in thick open-toe sandals): "These sandals would definitely be comfortable at midnight. My stylist wanted me to be beachy today, so she just brought all this stuff and put it on me."

Yolanda Ross (Treme, Whatever Works): "You see, these shoes are a little Studio 54. You know what, they're going to feel better than the other ones I tried, because those wouldn't even have made it this far."

Yolanda Ross (after switching to running shoes from the gifting lounge): "These are New Balance, and they are perfect. I heard Chanel is doing something like this."
