On most evenings, mentioning that the ladies look like a million bucks would be a figure of speech. But yesterday, at the Guggenheim Museum for the Tiffany & Co. 2014 Blue Book Collection, the stars sparkled in jewelry that was easily worth more than seven figures. I spoke to Jessica Biel, Katie Holmes, Kate Bosworth, and more about their dazzling (if, sadly, borrowed) gems.

"I can't even concentrate," said Katie Holmes, who wore Balenciaga. She extended her hand to show me a dizzying emerald-cut 27.31-carat sapphire ring. "If I could pass it around, I would. I did call my friends, and they came over and tried it on."

Jessica Biel was wearing a black velvet dress by Oscar de la Renta. "The back flies through [my feet] when I walk, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to fall," she said. Her own knuckle-size diamond ring, courtesy of Justin Timberlake, nicely matched her borrowed diamond drop necklace in platinum and Tiffany diamond legacy earrings. "It all has a kind of retro-Deco feel to it," she added. "But this ring just comes along wherever I go. Even if it doesn't match." Go Justin.

For Kate Bosworth, who was wearing a pink gown by Katie Ermilio, her look that evening was all about color. She matched a cushion-cut blue elbaite cuperian tourmaline ring (got all that?) with yellow-and-white-diamond earrings and a platinum-and-diamond necklace. "I didn't want to weigh down the dress. The color of the ring is so beautiful with the orange lips and turquoise that it just felt like spring!"
