What to wear on Super Bowl game day

The Super Bowl is coming up on Sunday and, yes, ladies, it is possible to show your team spirit without resorting to wearing your homemade Green Bay Packers bra over your clothes.

Ahem.

I've come up with a few cute, classy ideas on what to wear for the biggest Game Day of the year, whether you're headed out to a fancy Super Bowl party or just having a few friends over to watch the game.

First off, my husband would be appalled by this logic, but if you're like me and don't have a dog in this fight, let's review the team colors.

Packers: Green and Yellow.

Steelers: Black and Gold.

Both color combinations are ... lacking ... but when it comes down to it, I think I'll be cheering for the Steelers, based on the color scheme alone.

One way to root for the Steelers without spending too much money on a jersey you'll never wear again is to go for a look like the one I've put together above. Wear a long-sleeved black tee with a yellow scarf, your favorite pair of jeans, and a pair of black flats or low-heeled shoes. Gold nail polish would also be a fun and inexpensive way to show your team spirit.

Want to show your Packers spirit? Try layering green and yellow tees together. You can always go for a more muted green if you want to minimize the green/yellow clownlike combination. Wear your tees with jeans and retro sneakers and you'll be set.

And if you don't mind spending a few dollars, you can actually find cute team logo tops and hoodies at your local mall -- even if you're pregnant! Keep it to ONE item of team paraphernalia and you'll be a winner. Can't find women's sizes? Go for kids' tees, which will give you a better fit, and layer them over a long-sleeve white tee.
