What's this collared shirt missing? Bulk!
If you love the classic look of a collared shirt under a sweater but you're not a fan of feeling uncomfortably bulky, you're going to be thrilled with Julie Kalimian's creation, dubbed the SkinnyShirt.
This ingenious shirt has a stretchy, knit body paired with a woven cotton collar. From the neckline up, the shirt appears to be a classic button-front collared shirt. But below the neckline, it's all about comfort. Imagine your favorite stretchy, comfy camisole -- that's how the SkinnyShirt feels. In fact, that's just how Julie came up with the first prototype for the SkinnyShirt. She asked her local tailor to merge one of her collared shirts and a camisole.
The idea really took off when Julie tapped into her network and connected with Alexandra Shuman, a designer at Michael Kors who helped take the SkinnyShirt from concept to closet. Julie achieved the smooth, slimming result she had envisioned. Paired with sweaters, dresses, jackets, tank tops and short-sleeve tops, SkinnyShirt is a great way to give your wardrobe a more sharp, professional look. It's fashion that fits just right.
